Lady problems- may be TMI

Hi everyone!

I had my RNY surgery October 1! This is my 3 menstraul cycle since surgery. Previously I was on prescription anti inflammatory medication to help with symptoms surrounding my period.

I have wicked cramps this time around. I've also had 3 bladder infections since surgery, that accompanied 3 rounds of antibiotics. My tummy is very sore from the antibiotics so I want to stay away from Tylenol.

Anyone have eave any home remedies for dealing wth cramps?

I have found that a good heating pad helps take the edge off the cramps.  I have also tried the Thermacare heat pads for menstrual cramps when I was out and about and couldn't take my electric heating pad with me, they just don't get as warm as I would like.

Check with your surgeon.  Mine said Midol was OK.  I have found that Tylenol works well for me though.  Good luck, I feel your pain!!!  My cramps are out of control.

I take some homeopathic pills that help a lot....made by Boiron Caulophyllum Thalict is a homepathic remedy that helps with menstrual cramps. Comes in a little blue bottle you take a few at a time a couple times a day. They work!! Health Food stores, whole foods, etc....are places you can get them.  Amazon too i'm sure.  :-)

There is nothing wrong with taking Tylenol. That will give you some relief. Just no NSAIDS

Hi there,

thankyou everyone! Heating pads are my best friend right now. I'm definitely going to try the home remedy!

I'd rather stay away from Tylenol as the antibiotics have caused my stomach to bleed, I become very nauseous when I eat and occasionally I'll throw up. It will be like this until I heal. That's why I don't want to take Tylenol.

I get what you are understanding but Tylenol is not an anti inflammatory NSAID.
