Need help re: college daughter who has become obese

I'm surprised that, with all these posts, no one has suggested the WLS word yet.  If she truly feels devastated over her weight situation, she might take a look at surgery.  60 pounds overweight (and gaining) might be sufficient criteria for VSG or LAP-band.  In the end, she might just end up putting all her "thin" friends to shame.

I've told my daughter that anything I can do to be of support to her, I will do. I mentioned surgery and she stated "I hate thinking of myself as being that big. I just want to do this myself." All I could do was to remind her that I'm there for her concerning healthy choices, whatever those may be. I sure wish she would have surgery; I'm sure her BMI is over 40.
