Me too... I do chew chew chew...but it never seems to take me long at all. Things are not getting stuck nor am I in any undue pain from eating. So maybe my meal is not as big as some that do take 20 minutes or more.

Oh good...glad to know I'm not the only one. I was beginning to wonder if I really had the surgery. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful to not be having too much trouble (other than getting enough water).

Only three weeks out so really appreciate the posts.

I have the sAmerican issue. I do a 20 minute meal and have a really hard time with water.  It seems to thud in my belly even with micro sips. Warmer (heated) water  that is tea or other mixed like protein shake (even if cold in this case) goes down better. I love water, so it's frustrating. I think the water issue is part of this little stall I have going on, which is compounding the issue.

Slow eating....I'm 18 months out and I don't know if I will ever get this under control :-(  It was easier in the early days when it hurt to eat fast.  That's not always the case now so my bad habit is constantly rearing it's ugly head.

Different doctors give different advice. Some doctors say if it takes you more than 20 minutes to eat, you're grazing.

I promise this whole new lifestyle will get easier as time goes by.

Both my surgeon and the there surgeons that I work for have the same guidelines as Ms Batt mentioned.... It should only take 15-20 minutes to eat.  If it takes more than 20 minutes to eat, you may be eating too much because the food you ate at he very beginning is already moving out of the pouch (especially if itnt a dense protein).

Not so much very early out, but by the time you are several months out, especially if you don't measure every meal.
