Need Advice

I was just sleeved on November 17th 2014. I'm going into my 2nd week of full liquids but I feel like I'm not getting enough water, protein, food in. On Thanksgiving  I got a little brave and tried the inside of a deviled egg & now all I can think about is FOOD. The very thought of another week of liquids is almost depressing. I know I need to get back into it but I'm just stuck and bored on what to eat. Any ideas?

All that matters is getting in enough water right now.  Follow your plan and you will be fine.  What does your plan tell you to eat now?

Full liquids. Protein shakes, cream soups, soups in a blender,  cream of wheat. So very bored of that.

Hang in there - I went through that phase myself when I wanted to eat real food but I was on full liquids.  Part of it is definitely mental, you're bored, you want something to offer you satisfaction that the liquids just aren't doing.  We have all probably been there. You have got to occupy your mind with other things. Good luck with your Journey

Are you seeing a therapist?  It might be worth talking with one about how you're feeling.  But, mainly, try to focus on the fact that this is temporary and IMPORTANT while you heal.  You don't want to damage your new stomach.  Try to distract yourself and keep busy.  And work to get your liquids in, it's really important!

I actually told my husband that is something I have been thinking about. I'm not brave enough to start just eating food and have already planned by shakes and meals for the week. And I do much better when I make a meal plan. I think the tasting the egg just made me miss food. I need ideas of different types of soups or something to get me through this week.

I liked Panera's french onion soup - I strained it to get all the bits out and just had the broth.  It was a nice change from my protein shakes.

Gwen,

I love Panera!!! I got broccoli cheese soup there on Friday and asked them to blend it & they did. It was glorious! The butternut squash soup is amazing too!

I was told I could add a tablespoon of sugar free pudding to a shake and that seem to help a little.  You should follow your Dr's plan. What your Dr's plan is and my Dr's plan could be very different.  You could also call your Dr and ask them what to do your hungry, I'm sure that they have come across this problem with other patients.  Good luck, you can get threw this

Bubbles- it's crazy to me how everyone's post op food is different. Other than the inside of the deviled egg, I've stuck to it completely. I walk daily as well. I was just hoping for some ideas on other things I could make on full liquids (soup recipes)/advice on how to not lose your mind with boredom  of the same things.
