Hi everyone! I am looking for advice on what to do. I had VSG surgery on 6/2/14. I am 37. I have PCOS. During the first 3 monthes I lost approximately 40 lbs. Now for the last 3 months i have gained and lost the same 6 lbs. I cant get the scale to keep the downward trend. I am a pescatarian, so i dont eat meat. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Hi Gina,

We suggest you log "everything" you put in your mouth and take it to your surgeon's office so the Dietician can review and assist you. If you attend a support group share with them as well.  It sounds like you need to adjust your foods and move, move, move.  Also, if you have not done so please post this on the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Forum (VSG) to reach out to those that had the same surgery type you had.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

PCOS is a loser's worst nightmare.  All my life, no matter how little I ate, if I didn't exercise myself for at least an hour a day, I would lose nothing.  Looking that way again even with surgery and trust me, I monitor every morsel that goes in my mouth.  If you're like me, prepare to exercise A LOT to get where you want to be.  In the end though, your body will look the better for it than those losing but not moving.  You will at least have muscle tone.  Good luck!

Ahh ok I see. Perhaps your hormones are really out of whack from the surgery. Have you checked with your PC about that maybe? I am not sure as I am male and do not have PCOS.

You are most welcome. Please though talk to your medical team there could be something going on stopping you from losing.
