After the 4th or 5th day it got easier for me.  Try drinking Vitamin Water Zero, the electrolytes helped me feel better.  Also warm chicken broth sipped from a mug helped when I couldn't drink any more sweet protein drinks or Vitamin Water.  I know it is hard, I felt it was the hardest part of the entire process.

Keep your eye on the goal, it will all be worth it!  Good luck!

I had the same thoughts of cancelling the surgery because I was loosing weight without it.  Then I remembered I could loose 30-40lbs easy it was the 40-50 that would come back faster when I was not paying attention.

The liquid diet is horrible pre-op it will get better, promise!!!  Try broth and yogurts. Campbell also has very savory soups that come in cartons instead of cans.  They filled me up some.  Also occupy your mind in something other than food.  Become a workoholic or do marathon playstation binges for the next couple of days.  Anything that you can just drink water and keep going.

Best of luck

Oh dear,, LOL,,, I just started the liquid diet today! My problem is how do I get in 1200 calories? Which camp bells soup are best? I got tomato soup. I was told to add dry powdered milk and protein powder to it. Can I have cream of chicken? Just wondering which soups I "can" have? Oh, we can do this,,,, it will be the chocolate SF pudding that will help me along. Good luck!!!

Ask your surgeon for specifics. I was only allowed 5 protein shakes a day.

Karen, it really depends on what your surgeon wants.  Ive seen here that they are all different.  Some want two weeks of clear liquids.  Mine wanted the two weeks of liquids (Not much specifics) and two days pre-op of clear (Broth, water, jell-o, etc.)  I used the cambell's gourmet bisques and put a piece of soft goat cheese in the middle when hot.  I also purchased an unflavored protein powder and added it in different plates during the day to get all my proteins.

it's not about losing weight. It's about shrinking you liver and burning the slime coating off of it to make it more manageable.

Sure you can doit. We can. Do just about anything for a small period of time. This IS a small period of time it begin scheme of things.

We can do this, stay strong and remember how great we're going to feel and look in a matter of time. Check out the Swanson's broth, comes in wonderful flavors now. Hang-in-there, you're almost there!!!
