OMG....I have a surgery date!

My goal was surgery by the end of the year and it was looking like that wasn't going to happen...but, I got the call today! I am having gastric bypass on Dec 16th...one day after my birthday! How excited am I!!!! What a wonderful bday present!!!! I have been reading about everyone's experiences and advice for a cpl months now. I just want to say thank you to all that post their experiences!!! I feel educated and prepared for my upcoming journey!!!

This will be one birthday and holiday you'll always remember.  What a great gift - weight loss surgery!  Congratulations.

If you are anything like me you are flooded with emotion.  I was happy, scared, mad all at the same time.  I hung up the phone and cried.  The weeks before surgery were an emotional roller coaster - even though I new I needed to do this and had been doing a 6 month supervised diet.  You will do great.  Take it day by day.  My fears of surgery were unfounded.  I had very little pain.  So far, 4 weeks out it is going smoothly (despite the 3 week stall...uugh).

I literally squeeled into the phone out of excitement when she told me the date! I thought she was just scheduling my last office visit before surgery and then she said "are you available on the 16th for surgery?" I was like of course....and I think I may have said thanks and I love you lol! I'm not really nervous about the actual surgery. This will be most invasive surgery of my adult life. Fingers crossed for all going well and a speedy recovery :-) I'm def more excited than nervous or scared :-)

Congratulations !! Same here !! Myself and another lovely lady from the Ontario boards , Seyenna , are booked at 8 am and 2 pm in the 16th !! So exciting ! and nerve wracking ........let's keep each other posted :) Good luck xx
