Question about stalls
I've read about 'stalls' and wondered if you ever catch up from them. Like will you make up the difference after it passes by losing more quickly right away or do you just start losing normally again once it passes? Today I'm 3 weeks post-op and have been down 15 lbs for one and a half weeks now. I'm doing well with protein and fluids. Thanks for your input.
No telling! Every individual is different. And, for me, every month was different.
For some people, watching the scale and relating everything to numbers is important. But if you start to worry about them, the best advice is to hide the scales!
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
"Normal" weight loss involves stalls and non-linear weight loss. Normal is all over the place :)
If they're going to get to you, I recommend checking out Trend Weight. I weigh daily but Trend Weight really helps me to focus on my weight trend and keeps me from getting bothered by stalls or other fluctuations.

I never stalled but my loss did slow every so often. I tried to concentrate on what I was doing right and knowing that would work, no matter what the scale said. Also, look at your % of excess weight loss instead of the number of pounds. That is a better indicator, esp if you happen to be a lightweight, than the number of pounds.

Sometimes after a short "stall" -- I have a rather large loss (3-5 lbs) -- and I love this! Other times, I just start to lose again at a more reasonable rate.
