After a week long stuck at 200lbs, I finally made it to Onederland!!!! I haven't been under 200lbs in about 20 years and I'm only 38 years old! It is an amazing accomplishment. I still feel exactly the same as I did 41lbs ago though. When does your brain catch up to your body? My clothes are loose and I'm having to buy new ones. I have more energy and feel better physically but mentally I still feel like the biggest girl in every room. Has anyone else felt this way?

Oh yes, I definitely felt the same way.  Even though I wore a much smaller size of clothes, I still looked at myself much heavier.  It took a couple of years after my surgery for my head to catch up with my body.

Go with how you are feeling physically and your increased energy level.  Your head will catch up.  Congrats on your success and Onederland!

YES I still feel like the big girl.  I hope my head can catch up to my body soon...

Congratulations on Onederland!

from the different posts I've read about mentally catching up with what your eyes see is difficult .. some people years out still deal with that.

Eggface did a Ricki Lake interview (2012) about struggles after weight loss with body image issues... it's incredibly open, honest and touching.

Welcome to Onderland!! You are doing awesome.

I smiled as I read your post because I was discussing body image with my pre-op friend today. After losing 67 pounds I don't see myself any different. No matter what I try, I still see the same 255 pound chick. I know it will take time for my mind to catch up. I would just love to know why my mind is lagging. I didn't have this problem 5 years ago when I lost 60 pounds. Why now?
