Just wanted to share, Surgery date Nov. 25th
How EXCITING! And congratulations on your huge weight loss thus far! I have just completed my 6 months of doctor/nutritionist visits and psych evaluation for RNY. Can you tell me, did you have to complete the medical pre-op testing, such as the endoscopy, before the surgeon's office could submit your paperwork to the insurance carrier? I am just wondering because I haven't done any such testing as of yet.
I'm not sure but I would guess yes. This is why during my visit with the pre-op nurse she asked me if I had a endoscopy done and I had, I just had to sign a release form so she could get it. They did tell me that they had to have everything ready for the insurance company, however my insurance doesn't pre-approve so I had to sign a paper saying I will pay if they don't. I was told that even though they don't pre-approve the doctors wouldn't even talk to me about surgery unless they thought it would go through. I had four appointments on the same day and just before going into seeing the pre-op nurse I saw another person who did the last of the test ekg, blood, and blood pressure. I did my endoscopy 6 months ago when I had a stress test done. And congratulations to you too I wish you the best of luck with your journey.
