16 days post op and afraid to come off liquids!

I ate cottage cheese. Just remember: small bites, chew well, and go slowly.

Wow...thank you everyone for your advise.  It is so awesome to have such a great support group through all this.  I will try the scrambled eggs in the morning.  (at least one bite)...lol

One bite at a time.  Stick with proteins, not mashed potatoes, gravy and carb loaded foods and you will be successful. You can take some cottage cheese and put a little equal and cinnamon on it. That's good also. Stay away from the fruit yogurts. But Greek yogurt flavored up with some sugar free jello or sugar free cheesecake pudding mix or even a few squirts of Crystal light drops. Is great also.

Agreed... you probably aren't allowed to have fruits yet (applesauce doesn't count) so don't get the fruit yogurts... but Dannon Light and Fit has blended flavors  - the Key Lime and Orange are yummy

A handy tip - make sure the eggs are not overcooked.   I still can't eat scrambled eggs that other people have cooked and I am 10 years post RNY!!!

I thin mine out a little with a splash of half and half, salt and pepper for taste and cook them until they are only just solidified (still wet!)

I wouldn't recommend eggs first meal!  Maybe some cottage cheese or something. I can eat eggs, but must be careful! And your meals should take close to 30 minutes ~ eat THAT slowly!

Had my post-op appt today and was cleared for soft foods as well. Went straight home and tried cottage cheese and tuna fish. No problems at all. Take small bites and chew well. Don't have any fear. My surgeon recommended tuna fish since it is lean. You can use light mayo, one teaspoon. No bread or crackers of course. I felt like I was learning to eat for the first time all over again. Good luck. Everything will be fine.

I would try yogurt or ricotta cheese.  Even just start with one meal a day if it scares you.  Soft, light, creamy... My dr said avoid eggs right at the transitioning because they aren't always going to sit right.. I can eat eggs all ways but scrambled now (not fried, I don't bother).

A lot of people have trouble with eggs early out but are able to eat them later, just FYI.

It isn't silly. Being cautious is a good thing. All those things are soft and light. Cottage cheese is also something soft. If you are concerned, putting broth or water to make it softer would help and gives you liquids that you need to stay hydrated.
