I have to change insurance providers and I was considering Human 1000/1500. And I was wondering does HUMANA 1000/1500 cover WLS. If not what insurance would you recommend.

It is not the brand of insurance that determines coverage, it is what the employer chooses or whoever is supplyingthe insurance.

Thank you for the reply because I'm not employed just a full time student. I was going for Humana.

My suggestion is to ask the insurance providers yourself.  All policies are different.

The funny thing the Humana rep didn't have the answer to my questions and that frusutrated me. But I'm going to call back tomorrow and ask to speak to a supervisor before my policy go into affect Dec. 1st.

Do you still have the option to change insurance plans if this one doesn't cover weight loss surgery? Max the others indicated, what is and is not covered varies by plan and  sometimes even by state (at least one state requires that all policies include WLS).

I still don't have an option to change from the insurance I have. But I already completed the 6 visits and support groups. So I was down to the last stage of completing the pysch eval and EGD and I was going to be scheduled for surgery as long as that checked out. And my husbands tricare insurance dosen't cover the gastric sleeve. Just disappointed because everything was going so well and now my pysch eval appointment and EGD are scheduled for the 1st week in December, So I'll have to decide because I live in Georgia.
