You were on a liquid diet preop and they pumped you full of fluids. You can have loose bowels for the first few days.

I hadn't remembered, but this blog reminded me. As I stood up from the hospital bed, I left a stain, which embarrassed me. The nurse cleaned it up while I was in the restroom. This only happened once. Now I have the other problem, constipation seems more my problem. Where you on a liquid diet prior to surgery? I was for two weeks prior to surgery.
Surgery Date: 10-22-14, Dr. Monali Misra, Marina Del Rey, CA
Most people have the opposite problem and have pretty bad constipation. But diarrhea happens often enough that it's not rare. Things will even out soon enough.

I'd say you just had a reaction to one of the many things they give you (meds, anesthesia, etc.) or do during surgery. You will be just fine. But like Ms. Batt said liquids in, liquids out. Your poop will have a urine like consistency until you begin to eat textured foods. Its all good and temporary. . . then you may get constipated lol. But true.
No worries. Just heal.
Best,
