Fluids

I am 9 days post op and will be on full liquids at least until I see my surgeon on Friday. My concern is, I can drink my protein shakes and crystal ligh****er etc and rarely feel that full sensation. I haven't had a problem since surgery getting my fluids in. Should I be concerned? Occasionally I will feel like I have to burp immediately after I drink but other then that nothing. Is this normal? Plus I am only down 4 lbs since surgery which has me concerned because prior to surgery on my high protein low carb diet I lost 13 lbs in 14 days! Why aren't I losing faster now? Any options would be appreciated.

It's great that you have no issues with fluids.  Consider yourself one of the lucky ones!

Most people gain weight during surgery because of all the fluids that they're injected with.  Don't worry about "only" having lost 4 pounds in the last nine days.  You'll reach your goals if you stick to the plan.

Most people don't feel any sense of fullness until they're on solid foods.  Liquids go straight through us.

It does depend a bit on which surgery you gave had. It is always worth telling people or answering is difficult.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I had the Sleeve. It's not giving me an option to post that in my profile.
