Hurts to swallow after VSG, when does it go away?

I had VSG on 10/30/14. My throat feels sore and achy anytime I swallow anything. Once it hits my stomach, I feel no pain. Everything feels like it gets stuck in my esophagus before it moves into my stomach. Is this normal? Is this just a side effect of having the tube down my throat? IF this is normal, when does it pass? It almost feels like heartburn until it hits my stomach. I am taking very small sips so I know I'm not trying to take too much in at once. Ugh.
Have you tried different temperatures of liquids? Some people have better luck with warm or hot liquids than cold or cool ones.

I'd recommend calling your surgeon's office and asking just to be on the safe side then.

Sounds like post intubation pain. Mine felt a little like I was trying to fight off a cold. It lasted a bit longer than I was expecting, perhaps a week, but it went away eventually.

So I was able to get down warm chicken broth and cold jello. Could this be lactose intolerance? Everything else that I have made has been with milk. I called the surgeon and I'm waiting on a call back. Just wanted some advice. If it turns out that I am lactose intolerant and didn't know, what kind of soy milk is recommended?
