Hello, after meeting with my VSG coordinator, she informed me that after I start eating regular foods again, the only way I can eat steak is to order it rare or medium.  Yuck...too much blood.

Have ya'll ever heard of this?  Usually, I eat mine well-done. Thanks!

I'm with you. I cannot eat anything bloody. I used to love steak prior to surgery. Post-surgery my tastes have completely changed. For one thing, I have a hard time chewing it fine enough to make it digestible. Steak just sits in my stomach like a rock. I can eat chicken, turkey, pork, fish, ground beef, pretty much anything but steak or a dry roast beef.

You'll need to concentrate on more tender meat for now, so go for pot roast instead or a slow-cooked steak.  Think slow cooked for all meats (and veggies) for a while.

Since my RNY 9 years ago, I can still not tolerate well done meats all that well. Even if I eat ground beef, it cant be ground chuck or anything very lean. the usual higher fat content ground beef goes down a lot better. As far as steak, a filet or ribeye are my favorite cuts. I don't think I could handle one well done, just feels like it doesn't want to go down. Of course I have always liked my steaks rare..really rare...like so rare a good vet could have it on it's feet in a jiffy...
