Gas years post op
Have you started eating more carbs and grains? What are you eating?
I'd imagine that the weight gain and gas are both being caused by less than optimal food choices.

Start journalling your intake; it's all too easy for us to get offtrack and start "supplementing" our food intake with refined carbs, which are terrible for regaining weight.
Focus on protein first, then complex carbs. NO WHITE FOODS!!! No pasta, rice, bread or potatoes.
Also, you may be getting too much sugar alcohols in your foods; check the labels for any ingredient which ends with "ol"; those are like malitol, sorbitol, etc., and they really do a number on our innards.
For excess gas, if you can't pinpoint it right away and you have a horrible gaseous odor on emission, try Devrom or Beano. Beano is OTC, Devrom is available online.
I am 10 years out, and while I am not gaining weight (keeping at a steady 136lbs) I do have horrible gas. I attribute it to the food choices I make, although I recall being told, up front, that the surgery (RNY) would lead to gas. Thankfully it is odorless and silent gas.

Yeah, the gas is probably because of too many carbs (which are probably the culprit for the weight gain as well). That is the only time I have trouble with gas. I had a bunch of pretzels last week during a football game (I admit that I wasnt really watching my consumption very closely), and paid dearly for it that night and the following day!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
