Who knows how low your weight will go ..... Just work your program and see where you get.

Dont focus so much on numbers, try to focus on health.

I can't think of a reason not to work out during your pre op diet.

It's tough to say without knowing how tall you are. I had RnY and was told that I would lose 50 - 80% of my "excess" weight. They calculated excess weight based on a BMI of 20. I started at 337, and am at 197 now (I'm 5'11"). I would like to get to a BMI of 24.5, and although I am losing really slowely, I think I can get there by my surgiversay.

I think you can do it. I'm 6'3", high weight was 475, surgery weght 359. My surgeon's goal was 250, my own goal was 225. I've been within 3 pounds of 185 for almost a year and a half.

You can do it if you put the work in.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

"On average, people lose 61% of their extra weight after gastric bypass surgery."  Take me, for example.  I weighed 320 pounds when I started.  I "should" weigh 145.  So that's a difference of 175 pounds.  175 is my "extra weight."  61% of that is about 106 pounds, which would put my finishing weight at:  320-106 = 214 pounds.  My actual weight at the moment is 180, so I'm calling it a definite WIN!  (And I am 7 years out)  I would ask your surgeon about working out during the liquid diet.  I didn't have to do that with my surgeon, thank God!

I think it's very realistic but the time frame is totally up to your own body. You and have have the same starting weight and, at 3 months post-op and including my 4 week liquid diet, I'm down 85 lbs.
You'll have to see how you feel on the liquid diet to see if you can handle working out. I did cardio a few times a week and  core work nearly every night during the pre-op diet (I wanted to be as healthy as I could be going in). I was pretty bagged by the end of the day and I have a sedentary job, a small condo, and no yard work, so my energy expenditure was pretty low on a daily basis. I don't think I would have had the energy for weights or anything much more than what I was doing.
