2 points short of 40 BMI
I had my very 1st consult yesterday and I learned that my BMI is 38 not the required 40. I am 5'1 & weigh 202 seems I need to be 212 in order to go forward with the necessary steps for the SG procedure. I was told I will be scheduled for a sleep test and if I do have sleep apena I can proceed with the the procedure. I never really noticed if I had sleep apnea but I do snore, I do awaken at night coughing/choking so hoping this will work as I can't imagine gaining any more weight. I have really bad knees I suffer from osteo arthritis, had knee surgery 3x on my rt knee torn meniscus on both knees and torn ACL on the left knee. I don't think more weight is ideal for me but if i need it in order to get the procedure done then so be it.'
Has anyone else had to gain weight or have a sleep test done if so feed back please
If you don't get approved on the sleep test alone, you can easily "gain" 10lbs by eating badly for a few days, eating a lot of salt to retain water, and making sure you eat and drink before getting on the scale. It's not real weight but it still counts. And some people put something heavy in their pockets. Good luck!
Osteoarthritis should qualify as a comorbidity. High blood pressure? High cholesterol?
