RnY vs Sleeve
I say for light weights to have the Sleeve. Meaning 100 lbs or less. I wished I had it instead of Rny. Actually the truth is I wish I never had wls at all .. whats done is done.. Just my 2 cents.I have cramping issues badly because I don't drink enough water. I rarely have an appetite. and don't feel like drinking much either but do as much as I can so I wont cramp up. I cant walk I cramp so badly. I struggle every day..I'm actually also experiencing my intestines coming out of place. I will be having a cat scan done Monday to see if I have a Hernia. More than likely I do.. Never should of had Rny.. Good Luck.

The sleeve will allow you to keep most of your digestive tract intact. No duodenum, with its intrinsic factor and pyloric valve has been hell for me. I now have really bad reactive hypoglycemia. I basically eat salad and protein. Anything else causes my blood sugar to drop. It's not fun. Preserve as much of your normal anatomy as you can, is my opinion.

Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Did the doc say why he highly suggested the sleeve for you over RNY?
If you know all about the sleeve and still want the RNY, know exactly why you do and be prepared to discuss that with him. The sleeve is an easier surgery for him to perform, but it's up to you, ultimately.
