What else do I need to do...Surgery tomorrow
Ok All,
What am I forgetting. I am scheduled for the VSG tomorrow am! What else should I do. I am very nervous about the pain and down time. I am trying to be as prepared as possible. I am expected to be home the same day!
I have scheduled someone to come in and clean every two weeks for the next month. Gotten a pedicure and manicure and shaved my legs. Meals are premade in the freezer for the next two weeks for the family. I have ironed the kids school clothes and have them hanging ready in the closet as outfits. Car pool is sorted out for the next week.
My parents are coming in on Sun. (Not so sure this will be helpful, but at least they can run the kids to their activities). Fridge and freezer are stocked. I have a pillow in the car for the trip home. I have filled all my prescriptions for post-op. and I have movies on Netflix and the ipad ready to go. I have my isopure clear protein drinks, broth and chewable vitamins ready to go.
As a stay at home mom, I do everything for everybody. Hubby is great but he has no clue all that it takes to manage our home and kids.
I have deep cleaned every surface of my house, changed everyones sheets, washed all bath mats/rugs etc.
Bathed the dog.
Congratulations on your surgery date!

First of all congrats, secondly I feel like a lazy arse now lol. I guess I need to get it going at my house to be better prepared you have me inspired :)
It sounds like you are all ready! I just had lap-band surgery yesterday which is was less invasive than a VSG. Just breathe... maybe do some meditation. Try not to stress. I hope you get better pain meds than me. My doc only gave me regular strength Vicodin which hasn't been much help, but since yours is considered major surgery I'm sure you'll get something better than Vicodin. At least you have your husband to be there for you.
