Amazing NSV today!
i used to ride my bike all the time, even participated in some fun rides when I loved back east, but sadly i gave it up years ago. Then about a month ago I dig out my old bike, replaced the tubes and tires and started riding a little. Today I rode 30 miles in just over 2 hours! In so excited! Tonight my legs are sore, but nothing a good nights sleep and some peppermint oil won't fix by tomorrow. In 5 weeks there a perimeter ride around Tucson and I'm giving serious thought to riding the short distance of 40 miles! For now I'm planning to train like I'll ride, but see how it goes over the next 2-weeks before registration ends.
Hubby is really worried that it's too soon since surgery, but I feel great and have the nutrition part during the ride figured out. With a note from the surgeon I can get a waiver to have someone meet me at the aid stations with food, drinks, etc.
ill keep you posted!
Sounds Great! If you did 30 already 40 isn't a stretch. I used to love to ride my bicycle ... On my bucket list of things to do after surgery. Good Luck!
