Are you able to get your protein in?  I agree with others too about maybe your electrolytes, and maybe your sodium is low.  Also, is your blood pressure low now?  I felt the same way you describe for the first month, but it has resolved and now I feel fine.  My surgeon told me at the time to add salt, or switch to gatorade and it did help.  I hope your GP gets you the help you need.  Best of luck and I  hope you feel better.

Sorry you are having a rough time. You didn't say what surgery you had, but here are some thoughts: First do not drink Gatorade, too much sugar. If you are worried about your electrolytes, drink a small can of Low Sodium V-8 juice. It is high in potassium even higher than EEG v-8. I do doctor it up like a Bloody Mary minus the alcohol.

Your hair falling out is not an uncommon side effect. Also could be a sign you are not getting enough protein. Minimum should be 60-80 which usually includes one shake a day.

you don't mention if you are taking your vitamins. Minimum is a multivitamin 2x a day . 500mg calcium 2x a day. 1000mg b-12 once a day. Personally I would add a probiotic, a high dose D3(5000mg), a hair nail and skin complex or Biotin by itself.

Some people do develop hypoglycemia after surgery. Makes it very important to eat at regular intervals. You can do a search on this  site for more info

i am 12 weeks out and water tastes like junk to me now. I had no problem before surgery. Do find it helps if I drink 8-16 oz before breakfast , goes down easier with nothing in my system. Eating is still hard too.

I know this is long, but I really felt for you with a surgeon in Mexico. I learned some of this from my own experience and some from reading these forums. Good Luck

I agree with dehydration, too.  Main symptoms are fatigue and nausea.  Sound familiar?  You don't have to drink water, per se'.  Anything wet counts, and decaffeinated drinks are best.  I'm surprised your surgeon didn't recommend getting an IV of fluids to get you started on the right track.  I would recommend trying that before seeing a specialist.

The hair shedding and fast losing is perfectly normal.  I got to a point where I was dropping a clothing size every 4 weeks and needed to replace my wardrobe.  The hair loss is a result of having surgery (not just wls - any surgery).  It's called telogen effluvium.

Sounds like you need to have an entire blood draw work up including your iron levels.  It really sounds like you're not eating enough, drinking enough OR getting all your vitamins.  Doesn't your GP have someone on call for them while she's on vacation?  CALL THEM....get a referral...don't delay.   This isn't normal.

I am a little over 10 weeks out as well.  RNY.  I didn't start to feel really good until about 9 weeks. Everyone is different. I can completely relate to how you feel. It was difficult just getting through the work day much less everything else.

Then I had this idea to cut out the dairy products. Used soy milk in my protein drinks. I INSTANTLY felt better.  3 days later I felt better than I did before the surgery.  I was really disappointed because I love Greek yogurt and was relying on it for some easy protein. That's no longer an option if I want to have energy.

I'm also taking a supplement called "Hair Candy" with loads of Biotin and additional vitamins. So far, no hair loss.

Just some things for you to consider along with everyone's input.

I sure hope you feel better soon!
