Hello all.  I am sure this topic has been covered exhaustively so I apologize for the repeat.    This website is new to me and frankly a little overwhelming trying to find the information I want.  I am struggling on this liguid protein shake diet.  I am supposed to be on this for two weeks.  I am into day three.  My energy level sucks and I am grouchy as a bear with thorn in his paw.  Will my energy come back?  How do I make the the shakes taste better?  Any and I mean any advice or guidance is appreciated.

It will get better This is a rough spot.

There are so many different protein drinks and ways of doctoring them, but one person's tolerable concoction will peg another's yuck meter.

You can check out Nik's and Shelly's sites for suggestions. They are both post ops: http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/ http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/

Just remind yourself this is temporary.

I fight badgers with spoons.

You can add vanilla or chocolate or other extracts to the shakes to make them taste better. Maybe a little Splenda. Day 4 seemed to be the turning point for me. After that I didn't care!  Protein shake, broth, nothing rendered a response from me!!  But the protein shakes will make you feel full for a bit. Drinks a lot of water and crystal light. Good luck!  It will all be worth it!!

I had a hard time finding a good protein powder. Im not a huge peanut butter fan but i got sensa-6 chocolate peanut butter , blend 1 scoop, unsweetened almond milk and ice. Tastes just like a mini reeses peanut butter cup milkshake, no joke!!! I use a magic bullet to blend. 1/3 of the blender cup with ice then cover ice with almond milk n powder then blend... smooth n yumm
