I'm only two months out, but no, I wouldn't do this again.

Hi samhain,

Give it a few more months, things may get better.  I had complications for the first 3 months and thought I must have been out of my mind for having the surgery.  10 years later I do not regret it one bit and it saved my life.  We wish you luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

I don't know what problems you are having but give it tme,  it is not uncommon for people to find the first few months difficult and then, after maybe six months, feel absolutely fine.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Yup, would have done it 10 years earlier if I knew then what I know now. But only with the same surgeon that did my VSG.

I'm only 5 and a half months out, but yes I would do it again only 10 years earlier!

Definitely would do it again.  I've had some issues, but I honestly don't think I'd be alive today if I hadn't had the surgery.

And to "huskergal":  I'm not convinced that 80% (that's your 8 out of 10) postops have complications.  Can you post a link to a study or give some information to back that up?  I know you - Wendy - have had a hard time and I'm sorry.  I just don't think you or I are the norm.

YES, in a heartbeat! I am closing in on 4 years out. I WISH I had been able to have it long before then.

4 years out.  No complications.  No prescription meds.  No diabetes.  No high blood pressure.  Yes, I'd do it again.

No I cannot back up what I typed here. I have been reading posts for the last 7 years that's what I read.. from regrets post also. I have not had any serious complications yet. I've just had way too many surgeries. 11 of them heart surgeries. Every time a person has a surgery it wears havoc on your energy level each and every time you go under harsh medications.I am learning to stop turning to surgeries for every little problem I have. It plays havoc on one's body..It really hit home after what I seen on t.v.  what happened to Joan Rivers. such a needless surgery and died from it. There are Over the counter cosmetic creams to help one with keeping youthful appearences.

I do have more aches and pains from having wls. I don't want to make this a long post going into long details about my story. I will update my profile soon.I have almost lost my life twice in 2 of my surgeries. I went flat line when I had a breast biopsy. Glad I was saved from a very so called simple surgery. .I am just learning to take better care of myself without surgeries.I am now fighting an illness that is weakining my immune system. I am trying my hardest to avoid any future surgeries with that issue in my life.Anyway, whats done is done. Too many mistakes in my younger days trying to be wiser and smarter now in my old age is all. God Bless, and PeaceV Wendy
