SHOCKED

What did you base your (completely unrealistic) expectation  on?  Information on how fast you would lose from your surgeon? From something you read on the internet?  From someone you knew who lost that much that quickly (and probably started out much heavier than you)?

I truly don't ask to be snarky... I ask because I am always amazed when people expect to lose huge amounts of weight every week from surgery onward. People who are extremely heavy lose at a much more rapid pace because their caloric deficit is so much larger than someone who has "just" 100 pounds to lose.

Six pounds a week might be realistic for someone who started at 400 pounds, but not for someone who started at 200 pounds.

Well I based it off the Internet, co- workers and family that had the sleeve. I weighed 300  the day of surgery. Also my doctor advised that I should have lost more by now. Not saying that he advised I should have lost 60 as of yet just more. So I'll be going to the nutritionist next week for some help.

I am 11 weeks out and have 'only' (as you put it) lost 40 pounds since surgery I lost 25-ish before surgery(they didn't weigh me the day of surgery) I went on a 3 1/2 week stall after 1 week , lost more the second month, just came off another 2 week stall and lost 5 pounds in 3 days. The first stall I was freaking out, by the second I realized I had to change my mindset. I am very heavy, went into surgery with a 50+ BMI, thought for sure I was going to be one of those people who lost the 30-40 pounds the first month. not. Just further proof as to why I couldn't lose weight on my own. I am still setting goals for myself, some I may meet and some I may not. Have to do what I am supposed to do. My Doctor keeps saying he's not worried, why should I be? Don't fret, it is happening. Good Luck!
