Why is bariatric advantage so expensive?

Because they specialize in selling to bariatric patients and charge what they can get.  Any product in particular?

The only thing I buy now from Bariatric Advantage are the Calcium Citrate Caramel Chews 500mg.  They are delicious and worth it to me.   As a VSG patient, you may not need as many supplements as those who've had the RNY or DS, but only your lab work can tell you that.

Currently I take:

(2) Multi vitamins per day - Celebrate Multi Chews in Mandarin Orange

(3) Calcium Citrate per day - Bariatric Advantage

(2) D3 softgels per day - 2,000 IU each from Costco

B12 Sublingual - 3 times per week

B1 (Thiamine) - 3 times per week

I didn't have to take any iron supplements after the first three months.  Again, it will all depend on what your labs indicate.

They're certainly not WORTH the extra cost.

A pre-op liquid diet has no real advantage over a pre-op diet that's high in protein, low in carbs, and of a moderate number of calories from REAL FOOD.

Hang in there.  The preop diet is sometimes the worst part of the process.  The more weight you can lose before surgery, the easier it will be for your surgeon.
