Please tell us what a day of eating looks like for you, as well as any exercise you are getting. Then we can offer specific suggestions

Honestly.......anything that doesn't eat me first.  Its like I stay hungry.  If it is here.....I get around to eating it.  And I haven't stretched my tummy because I got serious for about a week and dropped 10 lbs and stalled..... Got discouraged and fell again.  But I can still feel restriction.

Protein first, then vegetables, then complex carbs if you have any room left. Make certain you are getting plenty of water and don't drink your calories. You know the basics but you've gone astray.

I find the more simple carbs I eat the more I want, so I avoid them. I can eat far less dense protein than I can of other things. If there are foods you are having a hard time staying away from, don't keep them in the house.

Are you still the area you had your surgery? I'd make an appt with your surgeon (or if not your PCP.) While you wait... chart your intake (food & drink) and output (movement) on something like my fitness pal or sparkpeople or fitday (all free) and bring that data with you. Also names of any medications you are on (many have weight gain as a side effect.) He might or might not do some tests to see if their is a mechanical reason for the weight gain too. Do labs if they haven't been done in awhile. They have heard it all and they know life happens and regain can happen. He'll likely work with you on getting you connected with a dietitian, therapist, setting up a team to help.

Keep posting... online support really does help keep your head in the game.

Best to you,

Michelle "Shelly"

Thanks.  That would be great except I truly am afraid to go back to him.  He is known for discontinuing care to those who "aren't following" the rules.  So it is a 50/50 that I go and have a good visit or go and have a god awful I don't ever want to see him again visit.

That is just ewww. I'd go and explain what you believe was the issue and ask for his help... and if he pulls that BS and doesn't develop a plan of action with you I'd be firing off a few emails and reviews so that others would be cautioned into having him as a surgeon. Remember he works for you, just tell him what you need.

WLS is a lifelong journey... you aren't the first or last that has had a temporary derail... life happens (death, divorce, babies, job changes, kid stress, work stress, family drama, etc.) and sometimes not the best choices are made... it's called human.

Wishing you a good visit. At least you will know to seek help elsewhere (new Dr, find resources on your own, PCP, etc.) because though we can give you advice it's nothing like professionals looking at your issues and helping you.
