Reviews: Have you used GenePro Molecular Tri-Protein Peptide Protein?
Has anyone actually had blood work done to check their protein levels since starting on Genepro? I mean lab results from your own doctor that show it works as they claim it does?
I'm interested, but their claims sound too good to be true. I don't want to take it thinking I'm getting the protein my body needs after bypass surgery and then find out it's all a sham. But I haven't seen one review yet that's supported by factual evidence of protein levels in the body after taking the product for any length of time.
Have you had any other noticeable results (or problems) since you started taking Genepro?
I'm coming up on my 3 month mark so I should be doing my blood tests soon. I have verified with my PA, dietician and two doctors in my gastro doctors office that I can use it. The doctors said there was no "magic" to if really just all the additives are eliminated from this powder unlike other brands. Their office has a lot of people using it so they looked into it closer to make sure it would be a good choice.
So I guess I'll be able to possibly answer part of this question after my blood tests.
I'm glad to hear all of those medical professionals are ok with you using it. That's pretty reassuring. What your doctors said matches what I was thinking after all my reading and watching videos on Genepro, but then I read where others were very firm in saying it was all hype, etc. and I didn't know what to believe.
I would be interested in hearing if your protein levels are good, just for my peace of mind. Still, I've been reading so many good things about it that I decided to at least order a couple of sample packets so I could try out the flavor and texture.
Thank you!
Yeah trust me... I got reamed for even saying I was going to try it. But after having two doctors approval I decided my doctors knew what they were doing and I wasn't gonna be scared off because people think it's "magic". As far as the texture and flavor go... it's great! I can put it in anything and I never get a bad taste. I cant put a full scoop in my 12 oz Powerade Zero and I don't get that nasty taste of rotting meat in my mouth. I love it. I also put it in apple sauce. I've tried 3 or 4 but this one is by far my favorite.
Good news! I got a letter from my doctor saying my protein levels are really good! Now I don't attribute all of that to Genepro because I make sure I have a protein shake in the am and then meat twice a day....But I do have it as a sub at night if I don't feel like eating food. SOOooo... I would have to say it is doing well for me!
I don't have an opinion either way. Definitely curious to hear about your lab tests though.
Wanted to post though to say that they most distressing part of my post surgery walk (still really really new to this) is all the hate and acrimony I read in 1/3 of all the posts here and on other bariatric surgery forums.
I guess maybe it's true that some of the biggest issues behind obesity are psychological. You can take the weight off but you can't fix the brain/emotions that got you fat if you don't change your heart too... I wonder what effect keeping bitter and closed world has in terms of longterm success...
Seeing it modeled so prevalently on these forums, now I am beginning to understand the high incidence of post bariatric suicide. You apparently can be skinny and still miserable. Something to personally keep an eye on... I am determined to fix both my waistline and my emotions.
Just my two cents.
I purchased this after checking out reviews on amazon.com - in the reviews several people claimed to have had lab work come back in range. Hopefully it really does work. I only use this unflavored kind when i get sick of sweet shakes. So I dont rely on it for 100% of my protein needs. I like it a lot.
I had weight loss surgery in Feb 2015. I bought Gene Pro from the Envision center located at my doctor's office. I feel that my doctor is the best in NC. (each person should feel they have the best doctor) I love using Gene Pro Protein powder. I feel great and it seems to be working fine for me. There is probably no protein powder ( or anything else) that does exactly what the packaging says. We should be here to encourage each other not bring others down or be rude. If you like a product, it seems to work for you & your doctor said it was ok for you to use it then that is all that matters.
I do try to get the most of my protein through food but occasionally you need a little supplement.
Please let us all try to be kind & encouraging and not try to bring others down by our words.
Best of luck to all!
