ASMBS recommends chewables for 3-6 months post-op.

They do?  When did they change their recommendation?  In their 2008 guidelines, they said it was fine to switch to vitamins you swallow as soon as you can tolerate doing so.

Apparently when I read the 2013 update, I didn't read it thoroughly enough.  This is the second time recently someone has pointed out a change I missed.

I wonder why they are now recommending chewables for so long?  I know many, many people that had no trouble swallowing vitamins right away.

I wonder the same thing!  They also, in that update, recommend 200% for VSGers, which was news to me.  I'll wait to get my lab results tomorrow before I increase my dose, since the idea of swallowing four of my vites a day does not appeal to me at all.

They also say no NSAIDs for any of us in that update.

I knew they recommended no NSAIDS for any WLS patient.

What brand of multi are you taking that you need two pills to get 100%?  There are many, many brands that you'd only need two pills to get 200% - I take a generic, the Family Wellness brand from Family Dollar, most of the time, which is nearly identical to Centrum but usually only $4 a bottle.

I'm taking Pharmax at the moment since I needed a copper-free multi (due to very high copper values on my last labs) and it was pretty much the only complete vitamin I could find without copper.  The regular dose is 2 pills.  Small price to pay for health, eh?

I finish up my Actigal few days, so at least there's that.  I'd be replacing the two Actigal with two more multis.

Oh.  Yeah, most multis will have copper.

So your dietician recommends calcium carbonate?  Not citrate?  Why?
