I'm not sure how much weight you expected to be able to lose in just 9 days, but it sounds like your expectations are unrealistic.  5 pounds in less than a week and a half is great.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

We couldn't possibly know this. Pre-op requirements differ immensely.

What I can tell you is that stressing over the scale isn't going to help. You are going to have so many weight fluctuations - losses, stalls, pauses, slight gains.... it is going to happen. That's how weight loss goes. I suggest you be prepared for that or I guess we will be seeing many posts from you wondering about daily, normal fluctuations as you lose weight.

Depends on the doctor and possibly medical cir****tances. I am a lightweight and had 100 lbs to lose. My doc told me I had to weigh less at my presurgery visit than I did at the consultation. I also was on a presurgery diet of 20 grams of carbs max per day for 2 weeks prior. Others, particularly those with 6 month diet requirements, have been given specific numeric targets.

i am suspecting that you may be burning through your glycogen stores, which are comparatively fast and easy. You can read more here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/weight-loss/in-dept h/weight-loss-plateau/art-20044615

Best bet: reach out to your doc to determine their specific criteria, and please try not to worry.

At your height, to have a BMI under 60, you need to weigh 430 pounds.  That would put you at 59.9.

Maybe you could call to find out if they have a specific requirement.  Sounds like you're sticking to your regiment, and you are losing weight.  Keep drinking your water too.  For exercise, you can go on YouTube and look up "" chair exercises".  That's how I started moving because I have mobility and heart issues too.

Don't get discouraged ... You'll be on "the other side" soon...you are doing fine.  It is tough, but worth the battle.  Hang in there friend!

You'd have to check with our dr as to what amt of weight they expect you to lose, everyone is different. I wasn't told a specific amt to lose, they did stress not to gain weight so it looks like you're doing fine, this part is only to shrink your liver to make the surgery safer. Don't stress too much now, if they wanted you to lose a certain amt of weight I'd guess they would've told you when they booked you for the surgery.

For exercise I'd just try walking but if your joints hurt too much try chair/floor exercises, also I saw online this bike thing that you use sitting in a chair, it might have been on amazon.

No one surgery is better than the other, what works for one may not work for another. T-Rebel
