Endoscopy

I have to go get an endoscopy, from doctor Swartz at the Advanced Bariatric Center.

I live two hours away. Will I be sedated? will I need a driver ?

As an RN, I will tell you what is customary down here: You will DEFINATELY need a driver.  They will usually give you a quick amnesic like Versed--virtually, you will have no memory of the actual procedure.  Good luck!

yes,you will be sedated and yes you must have a driver. They will not discharge you if you don't have someone to drive you home.

I had my endoscopy in August, I was not released until my driver signed a release form.

Yes you will be sedated & you will need a driver but check with the clinic they might be able to release you if you take car service home or a bus/train ride. I live in the city & I called them prior to the procedure & they said it was ok to take car service/bus/train home just as long as they checked me ok after the procedure, they hold you for a little while once the procedure is done to ck if you're ok to leave.

Yes and yes. I have had several Endoscopies and I have always been sedated.
