Disappointed
I had my endoscopy two weeks ago and the doctor said my stomach was in looked like hamberger from useing IBuprofen all these years for my arthritic. So, I had to wait and use medication to coat my stomach and I stopped taking the IBprofen . Had my appointment today and the Dr. said that where I had my Acid Reflex surgery has a hole in it where it's come undone no mention of IBruprofen use and I need to see if I can lose 5 pounds in a month before we can talk about surgery. She said try a non invasive way before surgery. What the heck ,why didnt she tell me to do this before? I would of lost the 5 pd long ago ,the problem is I cant keep it off. I was ready to have surger this month! Has anyone heard of this before? Thank you

She is a Bariatric Surgeon : ( Was hoping to have at least Surgery date set or insuance info sent in
For most people it takes a minimum of six months to get a surgery date set. Have you talked with your insurance company? Do they require a pre-op doctor-supervised diet? (This is often six months to a year long.) Do you meet your insurance policy's requirements? (Most require a BMI of 40 if you have no co-morbs, or a minimum of 35 with two or more co-morbs.) Have you decided which form of WLS is right for you?
Be patient but persistent. Think of this as a marathon, not a sprint.
I have was ready in Sept for surgery and I have already jumped thru all the hoop. Started the Jan. of this year.
