How long were you off work post-op?

I am planning VSG in January 2015.  Just wondering how long you were off work?  I know that it can very with everyone.  When I had my total abdominal hyst 3 years ago, my Dr. wanted me off work for 6 weeks.  After 2 weeks I was feeling great and begging her to let me go back.  Thanks. 

I would expect a similar recovery from your hysterectomy, however book off 4 weeks just to be sure.  You can always go back earlier.

It does vary for everyone. For me personally, I figured I would take a week or two (at max) off. However, I didn't expect to have any complication. I did though. I ended up taking off over a month off and only went back because I was able to work from home. Essentially though, I wasn't able to dedicate myself to wor****il about two months after surgery.
