Miralax needs to be added to a regular diet. Senekot or something like that will work overnight. Keep in mind - b/c i did speak to my dr about this b/c it happened to me and she gave me some good advice - are you constipated or are you just not going?

As much as we really want to "go", we are not eating enough to yield our old norms. When i am constipated I feel pain in my back and my belly so I take a senekot to "spot" treat. I take Miralax - 1 serving daily. A few months ago I stopped the miralax b/c i was going regularly and then i ran out. About 3 days after I stopped, I stopped going and it sucked. I have been religiously back on miralax for the past 3 weeks and feel great in that genre.

In any event b/c I dont know how far along you are and im not a medical professional...call your surgeon to see what they want you to do.

Ground Flax seed in your shake can do wonders as well.

In the beginning I think my longest stretch was 2 weeks or so

I'm 16 months out and only go 1-2x a week if I'm lucky..

more if I eat off plan..doesn't bother me though

i had years and years of it the other way, and you really have no life if

your always running to the bathroom...

Yeah Right! Just finished ten days of the clear liquid diet and nada. I'm up to thicker soups now. Maybe that will help.

OKAY- if you are cleared to work out... nothing empties my system like walking/running. I walked a ton after surgery and started running immediately when I was cleared. I had ZERO issues. Believe me... there is a good reason lots of pregnant women go jogging when they can't go. Works better than any medication!

Forgot to add- make sure you're drinking plenty of water too! This helps as well!!

Maybe I should have gone the cardio route, because weight lifting didn't help at all. I'm hoping my body will kick into gear after it's been frozen for 8 freaking days. lol!

My bottle of miralax says that it can take up to 3 days - what does yours say?

I use it every morning I don't poop.

Fleet enema along with the miralax.  I had never used either until I had this surgery, but now they are always in my house.  You may think you are having a baby by the time you do finally go to the bathroom.
