Cinnamon Users

ANy Cinnamon users out there? I just read that the cinnamon we buy at the local grocery store is just Sawdust. No nutrition what so ever.OMG I thought.. Do you believe this? please share with me your thoughts on this. I use it a lot. Wendy

I doubt that it's sawdust, but cinnamon doesn't really have any nutritional value to speak of, anyway. You just use a tiny amount for the flavor. Does yours taste good?

Since cinnamon is supposed to from tree bark, I suppose by definition its sawdust :)

Before it's ground down into a powder, cinnamon does look exactly like the bark that it is.  I like to grind my own for most things so I know I'm not getting any fillers.  Plus it just tastes better.  It costs a little more that way, but you wouldn't believe the difference in taste. 

I bake quite a bit and so we use a lot of cinnamon at our house as well.
