It is your responsibility to go to doctors who are in network if you cannot afford to pay the difference.  Why did you go to this doctor in the first place if you checked him out with your insurance carrier and they told you he was out of network?  Oh wait you didn't make that call.  I bet you do in the future.  Life lesson here.

If you read her first post she states that she was told he WAS in network.  Then later through an e-mail told he was not in network after she had the endoscopy done.

I wish some people could read before accusing.

Thank you,  ladygodiva1228, for replying to her comment. Glad to see some people aren't rude(:

My advice is to call your insurance company and find out when he went out of network or if he was ever in network.   If he was indeed in network when you had your procedure done then the  insurance company should be paying for the bill.

Check with your insurance and see if they'll pay a certain percentage of out of network doctors, labs, etc. Some insurance carriers will cover a percentage of the costs & you pay the difference. Depending on when the contract is up with certain drs & the ins carrier, they can be in network 1 month & out the next.

Ok, agreed..that STINKS! Maybe at some point he was in network and then left... that is why he had been on the website. I would talk to the Insurance company to find names of in-network Bariatric Surgeons... and yes, I doubt you will have to re-do everything. Take a deep breath. Good Luck!
