Eat better.  I used to be a fat fit person. I was never able to out run my diet.  still can't.

To lose weight i need to follow low carb diet.

Eat better. Start by weighing and tracking everything you put in your mouth and go from there. You can do this.

^^ What they both said, plus I want to toss in the consideration of the mind/body connection. I found that when I was stressed about something, the weight held on. When I let that stress go, things tended to work more efficiently. I'm not at all saying that being carefree is going to trump a less-than-ideal diet, but tying them all together/specifically addressing the mind component seemed to help me keep the scale moving when all other variables were accounted for. Do what you need to do to have a happy, healthy mindset in addition to eating properly. Better sleep, journaling, therapy, and endorphin-triggering exercise all were tools in my toolkit.

You have to track your food and track your weight.  To lose a pound you have to cut out 3500 calories.  That is 500 calories a day for one week.  To lose 1/2 pound a week, cut out 250 calories a day.  I so much wish that this was not true, but have learned that I cannot beat it.  The only way I can lose weight is to eat less than I burn.
