Did anyone have to do this? My EKG was normal but for extra precaution and my family history of heart conditions and I have hypertension the doc ordered an echocardiogram and a lexiscan because I cannot do the treadmill test due to bad knees.

Family history of heart conditions is a good indicator that you might need some extra care by the anesthesiologist during surgery.  Not a bad plan to know that before going into the OR.

Sounds like a good doctor, to me.

My dad had a heart attack at a young age so I also had to do an echocardiogram. They also did a nuclear stress test where I did not have to run on the treadmill, they gave me some kind of injection into an IV that stresses your heart for like 2 minutes and they are able to see how your heart is. I was very nervous because how do you know if something is wrong?  I was greatly relieved when the Cardiologist said I passed with flying colors. Made me feel much better about going into surgery. Good Luck!

My KG was abnormal (they asked me when my heart attack was and I have ever had one), so I was sent for an echocardiogram.

Diagnosed with mild aortic stenosis .... Probably had it all my life.

The cardiologist approved me, and really encouraged me and praised me for taking control of my health in my 50's .... He was a great support!

i wish you the same good experience with your cardio work.
