FIRST appointment tomorrow!

My first appointment with a surgeon is in 12 hours! I AM SO EXCITED, I think it's almost criminal!
After this appointment, my adventure to WLS BEGINS! Woohoo! The biggest hoop, as you all know, is getting approval from the insurance company!
I hope that goes by fast and I get APPROVED!
What should I expect for the very first appointment?? Please keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!
If it's anything like my first appointment, you'll sign TONS of consent forms, and see your surgeon for a brief time. (I think I saw my surgeon for about 10 mins...)
I was thinking my insurance company might drag their heels, however I was approved in less than 24 hours! From my initial consult to my surgery date, it'll be 7 weeks total.
GOOD LUCK TODAY!
Good luck to you! At my first appointment there were 4 other people there (all women). We met in a conference room & the nurse went over the post-op diet, had us sign consent forms, then one by one we met the surgeon privately. He asked which surgery I wanted, asked a little about my health history and sent me to the insurance coordinator. I was approved in 3 days by my insurance co (United Healthcare) and was scheduled for surgery for 6 weeks later (my choice due to my work travel commitments - but it could have been sooner if I wanted). GOOD LUCK!! xoxo

Thank you!
I just got back from my appointment. It went AMAZING. I met the surgeon by myself and we discussed the best plan for me. I have my first required test tomorrow morning (endoscopy). Then a sleep study and psychological testing. They're sending in my forms by Monday to the insurance and once I'm approved, we schedule my surgery. The surgeon was excellent and they're so fast!
I'm starting to get nervous. Lol
