Weight loss seems slow
You already know what to do when you say your diet isn't the best. Do you track your food? Try logging everything you eat. Weigh all your food. Get back on your plan. It isn't easy, but it's the only thing that works.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
That's ten pounds a month, or 2.5 pounds per week. If you can sustain that, you'll be at goal in no time!
But don't beat yourself up if you can't sustain that rate---most folks don't. The closer you get to your goal weight, the slower you're going to lose. The less you weigh, the fewer calories your body needs in order to just stay alive.
Carbs are your enemy. Eat as few as humanly possible, and you'll see a difference.
