VSG tomorrow!!
I'm in PV Mexico and will have surgery tomorrow! I'm very anxious to have it done... I wish I could fast forward a few weeks.
I've been reading and reading and have to say for most people the weight loss seems rather effortless... I mean I've struggled and struggled on a dozen diets over the years and it always seemed so hard...
Am I dead wrong? Thank you!
It is very hard. I have struggled my whole life. If it were easy, no one would need the surgery. Even after the surgery it will be a struggle, the only thing is you will have new tools to work with. I have not had mine yet. I am at the beginning of my journey, but I have had firends that have gone through with their surgeries and it has help them a lot. You can do this! Good luck with your surgery tomorrow!
Gaining weight was effortless. Losing weight has definitely not been! I work out 10+ hours a week. That's much harder than sitting on my ass. I have to be much more conscientious about food. I have to optimize the food I ingest because every suboptimal thing I eat means less space for things that actually benefit my body. I had to learn about vitamins, and supplements, and do a ton of research about nutrition. This has definitely taken way more effort than getting to 319 pounds did.
Some people have a different experience, but this is mine. Is this easier than losing weight without surgery? Probably, but it's definitely harder than the way I was living my life. And it's every so much better :)
