4 wks out frustrated
Try filling your mouth with water - tilt head back - drop pill in and swallow all together. You usually don't feel anything but a gulp of water. I can do 5-6 pills at a time now, but start with one at a time.
I taught my son this method when he was 4 and I never had to chase him around the house with a spoon ever again.

For a multivitamin, I do the Centrum Silver chewable. They're pretty tasty. For iron, I do the Bariatric Advantage passion fruit flavor--again tasty. I do sublingual B12 from Costco and the Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate chews. So nothing needs to be cut or swallowed whole, tho I don't have pill swallowing issues.
Make sure you get supplements you like taking so you don't avoid them--that was the problem I had with the BA multi--it tasted like crap and I dreaded taking it.

I have lost about 20 pounds in about a month. I have to fight myself not to weigh myself everyday. I try it just once a week. I had the gastric sleeve. As for the pills, I cant help you there. I didn't have any problems swallowing my pills immediately after surgery so I was lucky on that front. I take the pill and pu**** to the very back of my throat and swallow it (dry swallow) then take small sips of water to help it the rest of the way down. That is the only way I can take pills, it took me until I was about 14 years old to be able to swallow pills at all.
I had a very hard time taking any pills after my RNY on 6/4/14. I switched to chewable centrum vitamins, chewable calcium from Bariatric Advantage or liquid calcium, and a chewable iron supplement from Bariatric Advantage. I could manage the B12 pill because it was small. Just in the last week I have successfully been able to go back to pill form for calcium and iron. I think for some people you need time to let everything heal. Hope this is helpful
