I have cigna. they denied my doctors request for the sleep study at the hospital, but they approved the home study.

They are telling me i have to pay 345 dollars for the home study.. is this normal?

I mean i have to drive and get the equipment, then drop it off the next day.. and it still cost that much! WHYYYY

There are so many differences in insurance coverages - best bet is to call Cigna directly to get the information from them directly.  I had to do the home study too - but it didn't run that much.

Insurance policies vary widely.  I don't know what's "normal" or not.

I feel for you.  I have Cigna and they down right suck.  They deny everything it seems.  I don't doubt that Cigna is stating you have to pay for the home study they cover what they want to cover.  They just don't want to pay for anything.

Have your surgeon do a peer to peer stating that the study has to be done at the hospital.  They denied me a CT of my left kidney after an ultra sound showed a spot.  My surgeon called them and the next day I was approved for the CT.  I am still having issues with getting my lap band out and revisising to the rny through them.
