Wow interesting read. My bf who couldn't care less about any wls knows what the sleeve is and the fact it removes a portion of the stomach and leaves the intestines in tact only because I have spoken about it replacing the rny as the gold standard. How on earth does someone who posts here everyday not know this. Wow.
Instead of flouncing, this seems like a great opportunity to educate yourself in a field you clearly care about. It's easy to get stuck in a rut with outdated knowledge, but it's also easy (and worthwhile) to get out of that rut through education.

Agreed! Doctors have to keep up with the latest and greatest, I don't see why anyone else in a related field-- in whatever capacity-- shouldn't have to do the same.

From GwenMo: "Instead of flouncing, this seems like a great opportunity to educate yourself in a field you clearly care about."
What she said. You clearly have a gift for providing encouragement, which is something a lot of people need, and you clearly have a passion for interacting with others who have had WLS. It sounds lIke you need to add some additional education, though, rather than basing your support just on your own experience with your mini bypass.
