So, I'm 4 months post op today. I feel better than I have in a long time. HW (12/11/13) 367 SW (4/11/14) 335 CW (8/11/14) 261... That's a total of 106 lbs lost, 74 of those lbs has been since surgery! My attitude towards how much I have lost changes daily.. I'm so happy I've been able to lose that much, but my post op appt is Friday and I'm so worried my doctor is gonna say I should have lost more!! So my question is this; is 74 lbs in 4 months good? My doctor is a tell it like it is type of doctor... No excuses, no compassion... Just business!! And I've been worrying myself crazy that she's not going to be satisfied!!

I'm no expert, but 74 lbs in 4 months seems like a lot!  Also, who cares what he says about how long it took you?  He's just happy you're losing.  The scale's going in the right direction, and that's what it's all about, right?  Keep up the good work!!

Thanks! I know I'm harder on myself than anyone else is. I know I've done good so far, and I'm well over half way to my goal in just 4 months! Keeping my eye on the prize!!

I think 74 lbs in 4 months is fantastic and congratulations!! Let's see, that's about 18.5 lbs per month on average.  I suspect your surgeon will be happy with you.

Thank you! I obviously stress too much over doing everything right. My aunt constantly reminds me that I'm probably doing better than a lot of people are at this point. Weight loss has definitely slowed.... but my number are still going down, so I guess I need to focus on that and not "how much more I COULD be doing"

Go to RESOURCES at the top of the page, select POST-OP PLANNER and put your numbers in.  This will give you a very good estimate of what to expect in weight loss for each month after surgery until your reach your goal.

Thank you! I looked it up and it says I should have lost 70 lbs at 4 months.. so at 74 lbs lost, I think I'm doing good!!

74 pounds in only four months is awesome!  I can't believe that your surgeon won't be happy.

The most important question is "are you happy" with your weight loss?  That's what matters the most.

Congrats on your success.

your doctor doesn't have tobe satisfied...what is she God? As long as you are satisfied that is what matters.
