Quinoa
Hi, Has anyone ate quinoa after surgery ? It is high in protein and just wondering if it would work with WLS

It may depend on your surgery type.
I eat it now, but did not for the first year or 2 because I have limited space, and there are much higher protein choices.
Quinoa has some protein, but I don't consider it 'high' in protein.
Maybe a spoonful or 2 as a good quality carb with my meat and veggies.
I eat it from time to time but I pair it with something higher in protein. I make a sort of crustless quiche with it and a burger with Greek yogurt dip.

I eat it occasionally as my carb choice. Usually only 1/4 cup or less. I was told by my nut not too eat it too early out as it could swell a bit in my sleeve (like brown rice does). It is good mixed with tiny pieces of raw veggies and some kind of dressing as a little salad. It does have good protein, but I always pair it with meat.
