I agree with this response... I have lost almost 90 lbs and don't plan to regain wither, but it is a question I have wondered about as well. Why is everyone so sensitive about a good question, if it helps someone make their decision to have the surgery or not? Come on people!

Hi huskergalWsD,

I think everyone is trying to understand your question and you have to admit it's "different".  The only person that can answer this is someone that has lost all their weight and then gained it all back.  Thank God, I really can't answer this question but I can give you some thoughts.

After losing over 200 pounds try to imagine a women that was over 100 years old.  I looked like I was melting.  My neck was like a turkey neck where the skin would smack me in the face, my arms were so bad if I put my arms out I would have lift off.  My boobs were like empty tube socks.  The skin from my mid section was so bad I had to stuff paper towels under the skin to work out and then wear a panty girdle and then a full on girdle.  I was lucky my legs were not so bad.

Now to your question, if I had gained back all the weight I would imagine my skin would have filled in like an inflated balloon.  Now, if I had Plastic surgery which thank god I did, gaining the weight back would stretch everything thing back out and the longer I kept the weight on the more the skin would become loose.

Did that answer your question?

this thought and question all started when my 84 yr old step mother said I looked better when I was obese. Like I said before I never intend on gaining my weight back...Just curious is all.I'm sure this thought has run across everyone's mind at one time or two. Thanks for this input..Lately I have been having so many different thoughts about weight issues. When I was obese I used to be confused why I was having so many aches and pains.Never sure if it was just an aging thing or if it was from being obese. after all my journey's I have now answered a lot of my own questions. ..Wendy

Hi Wendy,

I do not believe for a second you were trying to be ride or insensitive...... funny how some of the people that are so concerned about peoples feelings had no problem jumping all over you...   You just keep doing what you are doing.. You have been through more than any one person should go through in a lifetime and you are doing great!!  :)     As far as what it would look like.... Not sure but I am sure that wrinkled or not, you are healthier and THAT is the goal!  :)

Sorry so many people took offense to your question.  It didn't bother me at all.  I've wondered myself if, whether after losing all my weight and possibly having surgery to tighten my arms, what would happen to my skin if I gained all my weight back (God forbid!).  I'm assuming without the plastic surgery the skin would just fill out again, and after plastic surgery, that the tightened skin would be stretched drastically, which sounds painful and not good.

Hope we never know what it's like.  But I think anyone should feel free to question the site and people don't have to respond if they don't want to.

Do you ever ask how people feel after they had their surgery? Has it had any positive affect on your life? You always have seem to be very upset that you had it.I think parts of your life would be better and not worse.

Don't feel alone. I have wondered about this as well. Not because i plan to loose than gain, but because of curiosity. To berate someone for asking this question is just crazy and an adult form of bullying. SMDH at some of the OH users acting like children.
