New Member, Waiting for Approval for the Sleeve
I'm in the same boat! My BMI is 64.5 :( I have kinda two sets of approvals needed.
BCBS of IL requirements: psych and dietitian eval (had dietitian eval today, so the surgeon office is submitting to insurance tomorrow!!!) YEAH!!
Surgeon's office requirements: psych eval (already DONE for BCBS), dietitian eval (already DONE for BCBS), abdominal ultrasound (DONE), nutritional class (DONE), support group class (DONE), and pulmonary eval (DONE- need to use CPAP machine for 7-10 days before the sign off)
So all my appts for now are done.... once they hear back from insurance and get the pulmonary signed off, I can schedule... so excited... I'm nervous!!

My doctor is top of his field! I travel just short of 100 miles to have him as my doctor. I had a Lap-Band done ib 2011 and lost 53 pounds. Surgery went smooth and recovery was great. Stopped losing in early 2014 and developed severe stomach pain. Ulcers were the cause and I started having stomach spasms shortly afterwards. The gastric sleeve was suggested and was just wondering if there are others out there that have had this conversion done. I usually heal up pretty quick and have no problem following directions. Please send feed back. I can deal better with things that I know are coming so any tips that you have would be great. I am scheduled for my conversion 08/20/14. Posted on July 29, 2014, 11:20 p.m.
