I am going to start the 3 months of weight loss classes for Cigna and my patient navigator at the surgeons office is making it seem like I will never get Cigna to approve it.  I am chalking it down to her being a negative nancy but I am starting to worry that they wont.  Any insight on your experience with them?

Call the number on back of your insurance card and ask Cigna if you qualify for surgery under your plan.

It really is best to call Cigna & see what they require. I have Cigna, but my ins is probably different from yours. I was covered, but I also have a high bmi (over 50 at that time), & co-morbidity(diabetes)., even with that, still had to go thru the tests, get a letter from my pcp recommending wls, etc as well as go thru what the surgeons program required. Good luck!
